Gallante or Minmatar?
That is the question on my mind before going for Frigate 5 of either one. Let me tell you why I canÆt deicide and if you could please give me some recommendations why I should go with one or the other.
Gallante 1.I like the Thermal / Kinetic damage and resistance. In my part of space we fight Serpentis so that is a plus. Also for PVP I find that Thermal / Kinetic are a good balance of damage types resistances for PVP. 2.Drones û I like drones and I hate drones. They are good damage but I hate losing them and having to always remember them and take care of them. Also in a fight once they are destroyed you lost a good chunk of dps.
Minmatar 1.Like the look of the ships better than Gallante 2.Uses some missiles which I like since Drones get shot down and I like having some missles on my ship mainly for the cool explosions 3.Can sort of change damage types but uses to much explosive imo. 4.Generally faster which I like, canÆt stand being in really slow ships 5.Bad resists unless youÆre only fighting Amarr. Imo 60% resist on EM for Armor is good enough, since I have hardly run into people flying Amarr and the rats I fight donÆt do EM damage. 6.No cap usage on guns but lower damage guns. Playing around in Quickfit I always find Gallante do more dps over Minmatar but seem to have shorter range and more cap usage.
On a side note I like Amarr ships, some of them look cool and the fact you donÆt have to reload and go get more ammo is a big plus as well. I am looking forward to responses to help me choose Tech 2 ships to go with. And although IÆm going for Frigate 5 now keep in mind I want to specialize in one racial ship type now so Tech 2 cruisers are also a consideration.

I left Caldari out because I hate the look of thier ships, which is important to me. I have no interest in flying Battleships as I tried them on the test server and couldn't stand how slow they are. Wish I could fly a Wolf / Jaguar hull with Gallante resists and bonus's for blasters, and the drone bay of a Ishkur.
Keep your opinions coming, would like to hear more of what people have to say.

Thanks for the info guys, at this point I just finished Engineering 5 and going to do Mechanic 5 while I make up my mind, at this point I think IÆm going to fill up a hat and draw names over what to go with.

Luckily the test server came up and I could test all 3 frigates in a pvp and a pve 0.0 ratting situation. Here are some of my comments on what I thought of each. I had the same frigate and gunnery skills for each type so skill points werenÆt a factor.
Amarr Punsiher - Lowest damage output - Nice tank put you donÆt get hit by BS spawns anyways so itÆs pointless - No ammo usage
Minmatar Rifter - Medium damage output - High rate of fire, uses a lot of ammo - Awesome looks, and very nice slot layout
Gallante Incursus - High damage output - Uses ammo, but not nearly at the same rate as the Rifter - Has one light drone - Very weak tank but youÆre not getting hit anyways
In PVP I liked the Rifter the most, and for PVE the Incursus has my vote. But since IÆm going for the Assault ship versions I decided on the Ishkur, great for PVP and PVE, massive drone bay for a frigate, and perfect slot layout. Just wished it looked like a Minmatar ship. Now the hard part of waiting 9 days for Gallante Frigate 5.

its hard to test minmatar with equal low level skills and get a valid result. the problem is accuracy plays a large role on your dps. so with weak skills you really dont get a good feel for the amount of damage possable in one volley.
i really wish test server allowed for max skills in the tenth of the train time. you could get a good feel for what it could be like in the future.
minmatar takes ALOT of skilling. they use so many things. i think they are overall the best once skilled right.
I have heard this before but no matter what I cannot come up with a configuration in Quickfit for Autocannons to beat Blasters, Or Artillery to beat Railguns.
